Ok so the car is probably worth £1200.
What gets my back is that PSLewis reckons the average weekly is £1200!
I work my backside off up to 50 hours a week as a software consultant and earn less than that. Perhaps he's an overblown consultant (and some consultants deserve this kind of money don't get me wrong) but maybe he should get in the real world and realise that the national average salary is still only around 22k PER YEAR.
£22,000 / 52 weeks = £423
£62,000 / 52 weeks = £1200
Hands up everyone on Scoobynet who earns £62k or more?
I wish!

Don't nuclear missile designers do that job to make up for being small in other areas???
BTW: Roughly speaking £1200 AFTER tax equals £2000 before tax and that corresponds to £104,000 per year.
Hmmm... nice if you can get it

No-one really designs nuclear missiles. Aliens left them behind in 1956. Pete just keeps them shiny, but gets paid about 80k a year on account of all the radiation that toasted his nads and made him into a BIG GIRLS BLOUSE.
p.s - I wouldn't imagine there are too many people running Scoobs on 22k salaries

just curious as I might own a little more than that.

Markus - I think it would leave it fairly tight for everything else. I reckon my scoob cost me about 900 quid a month to run. On 22k you would be getting around 1400 quid after tax, so 500 a month to live on? I'm sure some people do it, but I would imagine the average salary of Scoob drivers would be a bit higher

One thing you can be assured of on Scoobynet is that if Pete Lewis gets involved in a thread it's always going to be good fun to read. I really enjoyed that 'for sale' thread. It was like taking a trip back down memory lane, this one is coming along nicely too

I just find it ironic that the guy who would ban gold wheels is bleating on about censorship.
It's funny when it's the odd "I'm the most important person on Scoobynet" thread. It's not so funny when he starts spamming the BBS with dozens of "I don't understand the difference between freedom of speech and a privately-run enterprise" threads like the last time someone did something to upset him.

I ran a MY00 for 2 years and that cost me £700 a month to run over that time. I earn quite a bit more than 22K a year and even I thought that was a stupid amount to spend on just running a car, hence why I got rid.

200.00 - insurance (Northern Ireland)
400.00 - petrol (2000 miles approx)
300.00 - servicing - tyres - extra bits, exhausts wheels etc
Add the 300.00 a month to buy the thing and you don't get to eat much on 22k

Pete - Depends where you live. I have a 5 bedroom detached house with 1/2 acre of gardens in the 'nice' bit of Belfast which cost me 86k 3 years ago. From what you said in the other thread I'm assuming you wouldn't get a parking space for that
