can any one tell me what bhp a 94 ra had and what ecu it has in it

240ps and W9 is 93/94 RA

260ps and Z5/6K late 94/96 RA

I think

A & B Series; W9; C1 & C2 Series Z5. The WRX Type-RA (as opposed to the WRX STI Type-RA) is rated similarly to the WRX model (that it was cheaper than).

i was told by the bloke at my local garage that thay have a w6 with 260ps looks like he got a clue

The W6 was an A & B Series WRX ECU, rated at 240PS.
