I was followed in my sapph cos earlier for a few miles by police (quickly turned flame kit off ) then when they finally pulled me over, they checked details and said they pulled me purely as recently in the area (Cheshire) there have been a few performance cars nicked . Thinking he meant cossies he went on to mention scoobs as the main car to pinch (breaking in the house and getting keys) and said that they had been chasing a couple of white sapphire cosworths fleeing from one incident but the cossies were just playing with them and soon shot off when they wanted and so he was checking out who I was and making sure I wasnt one of the getaway cars! Funny though, when questioning him about how we can win ie if someone breaks in we have to treat them with a level of respect according to the law, he replied "off the record mate, i'd ******* tw@t him with a baseball bat if it was me!" well said that man!

Anyway, scooby owners, take your keys to bed as most of you probably do anyway, lock up, alarm downstairs of house, and have nice piece of wood by the side of the bed (and a spare set of keys and alarm fob with no battery so if they DO get to you, you can give them the wrong keys with fob not working and once they out, unlikely to come back in again (especially once you have time to get up and get that bat ready! )

On a slightly related note, this is the punishment car thieves can expect. In todays local paper there was a report of a court appearance of a car thief who was caught red handed in possession of a stolen Isuzu Trooper. His sentence was 1 year on probation, lost his license for a year and £75 fine.
His brief said that he had got involved in bad company and he regreted his actions.

Think I'd rather leave the keys where thay can get to them and take the car. Much better than coming up the stairs where my wife and child are.

Its interesting that the cossie drivers obviously view the scooby as a far superior car and thus have to steal them...

Either that or they cannot get another loan to buy one to keep with the cossie..

He ha !

funnily enough the base model escort was once the most stolen car, as the demand for second hand parts was huge, does this mean that the escort is the best car?

I dont think so.

Adam,

No .. But at in some roads there was nothing but escorts to steal.. Plus they arn't the most difficult to break into.

The point is that all the cossie drivers make an issue of not liking the Scoob, and slating it - Then they try to steal them, so either they are a superior car( otherwise they would just keep the Cossie ) or they would like to compare the difference between teh two in a head to haed to finally decide who is the ' king of the 2.0turbo'..

What do you think ???

I think you shouldnt start rows like this again,

we are going to get slaughtered at aloconbury, and for peopel to be bigging us up now is only going to put egg on our faces.

It doesnt affect me anyway, the 2.0 crown is irrelevant to me.

I have two subaru engines, a 2.2 and a 2.5

Adam -- do you have a car other than the 22B then? What is it, a Legacy or a US-spec Impreza RS?

No row was ment to be started - hense the ha HA..

If you read the post yesterday about alconbury, cossie drivers, and scooby drivers including Ima and Mike all managed to have decent conversation and all ended up looking forward to the event...

Personally, I shall be in a 700 bhp R33 so no 'slaughtering' will be done me thinks !

My 210 just ain't enough..

My apologies at my jest - just though it funny in light of all that goes on on here..

Carl, I have the engine not the car. I am considering a transplnt, but dont hold your breath, I have some exams which will be occupying my life for the next year. I have just assembled a short block, incase I decided to go for some more power in the future, nothing more than that.

paul, I would thought the porsche 911 with those figures would still be slaughtering the skyline.

I would liek to see the thread were cosworth and impreza owner can talk without a mine's better than yours type conversation ensuing!

Paul78 , they are stealing the scoobies to sell on! (at the current second hand prices maths isn't really the thieves strong point) but they keep the cossies as the like them! (ps its a joke) the cossies are probably stolen too!

Apparently the magistrate issued this lenient sentence after taking into account the shame already incurred from driving an Isuzu Trooper

hows it quicker than mine ima LOL you wish!

Obviously not cossie owners, but using the cossies as they are less inconspicuous when trying to get away, and more likely to get away from the police in a chase than a scooby

Andy....off the shelf chips are designed for a variant of conditions on an engine, surely you know this..?..I KNOW a Collins is a better chip than an ahmed one..from experience..yours is from that tiny brain...

Your car looked a dog in the photos thats all..perhaps if you sorted the rust out and washed it you wouldnt get those comments..

My turbo comment still stands......what boost is a RS500 run at?Same as a normal cossie with a T3....how if the T4 produces so much air?...Or does it run a lower boost to get the same power?Nowt wrong with asking questions Andy..you should try it one day, maybe then you will plug your Swirl pot in the right way.......

yes they are designed like that but basically they are a "one size fits all from Burtons" ie made before the 'all' are measured, so a huge power lifter or a tiny midget may still find it doesnt 'fit' as well as it should, however a mapped chip is a "tailored fit from saville row" where its made to 'fit' the engine perfectly I also have an off the shelf chip as do most people so im not trying to glorify my 'personal mapped' chip cos i dont have one

the car didnt look a dog, you obviously havent seen real dog of a cossie try a week of nasty weather, 36 miles a day through dirty backlanes, then JamesM wanting me to play on the worst day for rain and then taking pics even then it still looked fairly clean, but the back was horrible where the flames and ****e from the road all stuck to the back, and the rust is a tiny spot on the rear, these werent show photos, just what james took at the time, you wouldnt understand not having a white car, probably why yours always looks 'fairly' clean when its dirty with those dodgy rims of yours

T4 flows MORE air at 9 psi. there is your answer, as for swirl LOL, i am running it right, just cos one person says im not...

So the RS500 puts out more power a 9psi then..?

Your swirl pot is plumbed in wrong..period.

Your car is a rusty piece of $hit with the dodgy wheels.....washing it would make it look worse

Your missus had that sprog yet?I am taking bets on the father of it...

collins chip and no tuner to set it up? its probably detting its head off ONLY 25psi??? go the ahmed route to run some real power

seems like it wont be going very fast soon at all if the police have their way...

Cool

er... yeah, off the shelf chips are worse as every engine is different and so the MAP from the original car it was setup on wont run as well on another car hence the reason for having cars 'mapped' Ima you know so little

Ahmeds chips are more powerful than collins hence why no one uses collins ALL the big boys usually run ahmeds and with all ahmeds usually always causing big flames, aint no where he saving on fuel to reserve power

as for driving fast, i meant YOURS wouldnt be going very fast at all if the police have their way once you up in caught! still, doesnt go fast anyway, just wheelspins to give that impression

Im surprised you seem to think there is something wrong with my car, with all the bodywork panels being originals and the car stored for most of its life in a garage, they dont come much better than this bodywise, the small rust around the centre section is common due to the spoiler coming loose when the boot is shut hard and the build up of condensation over the years while in the garage, still bignige had the same on his sapph, not hard to sort out

as for knowing so little, this coming from someone who had to ask EVERYTHING including "why does a bigger turbo boost more air than a smaller turbo"
