How many have got their car sideways on public road?

I have a couple of times and found it quite forgiving (MY99).
Just wondering if others tend to push it a little now and again?
To all those who are just about to get on their high horses about dangerous driving etc, you can all f*ck off right now. I'm not interested.

Have had the odd 4-wheel drift on wet roundabouts, largely due to the P-zeros I suppose. Had the back end step out once on a greasy B-road a while ago and the AWD pulled it back in nicely.
Managed a few 360 degree powerslides too, mind you it had been snowing...
Never had it break away in the dry though, nor have I tried to induce it.

I took a 97 out for a test drive and before I drove it the salesman drove it to a layby and before we got there he purposely got it massively sideways round a roundabout! Needless to say when it was my go I gave it some welly to pay him back!
Had the backend go on my bmw 525i auto on a poor tarmac'd road, nearly **** my pants cos they aren't designed to go sideways! Got it back thankfully and wasn't hammering it either!

I used to be able to drift a LR Discovery my parents had ten years ago, but only in the wet. But that did involve ludicrous entry speeds in to corners, and the looks on the faces of my passengers and other drivers made it worthwhile.
But my best hooligan act I pulled in the Disco was teaching a w8nker in a Astra GTE 16v not to tailgate me. Bit of a story but I always enjoy telling it. I was driving into my local town one day, doing about 70 mph down the A-road as I do. See an Astra slowly gaining on me in my mirror, but I am more concerned about ovetaking the cars I am catching up on. Indicate and pull out to overtake, and the Astra follows me. Now I know diesel Disco's don't accelearate but I got past the three cars I wanted too, but matey in the Astra was unable to overtake me, due to traffic coming the otherway. So he proceeds to follow about 6-10 feet behind me thinking he'll get past in a minute, p1ssing me off in the process. Anyway up we comes to some roadworks with a 50mph speed limit, I slow down as there are 40-50 workmen about , and I don't fancy hitting any of them, at which point Astra driver starts flashing his lights, and waving his arms. What matey doesn't know is there are two almighty ramps to go over in the raodworks, and if he hadn't been following so closely he might have seen them. I ducked a bit in my seat as I knew the car was going to fly off these ramps, hit them doing 50mph, and the Disco leapt off the road. At the same time I can see in my mirror two sets of sparks from the Astra (like a F1 titanium skid block), and it suddenly slowing, with a mashed front bumper, and a black line of liquid in the road. I can't say if he learnt a lesson from it, but I had a bloody good laugh.
Sorry to ramble on off topic but that story always brings a smile to my face.

every time I take out the cossie it seems to break traction, usually it involves fishtailing up the road 9 times out of 10 it aint even intentional. I've given up trying to prevent it happening and as traction control is in excess of a grand to fit I have just learnt what to do to control it when it happens and then get on with my journey. Sometimes I can feel it going, other times it takes me totally by surprise. Strangly, I feel it has made me a better driver. i dunno.
astraboy.
P.S. I can bear testement to Paul Palmer taking the 3-door round Brunters. After only one lap my rear brake pads were smoking!!! He is the sideways master, just let him take you out in his XR4i

I got my car sideways on a public road. Classic scandinavian flick....right into a barrier. Wouldn't have minded if I had done it on purpose. That's what keeping under the speed limit on a wet road with new tyres and driving over drain covers does for you

Did you edit your post a few times? If you do it about 4 times the post gets deleted. It is a bug of the software that is being rectified.
