my brother has an MY00 uk trubo impreza saloon
mods are hks panel filter
hks hiper muffler exhaust system.
bailey dump valve

had some running issues at the moment as he was guttedt hat he got smoked by an E36 328 BMW
seems like it is okay up to 4000 rpm and then struggles around the 4k mark and then pulls on again up the rev range but is very sluggish and is not putting down all the pwoer it should
anyone have any ideas?? its just he lives about 50 mins drive from me and id like a possible idea what it might be before i drive over there, he had a full service and new plugs 2 weeks ago and the problem stopped but now its back again!

TBF mate a UK Turbo with those mods aint going to set the world on fire is it?

328i's are quick cars on the move.Without a remap his scooby isn't going to be set up properley and making the most of the mods also.

I'd say it would be a close one but the BM might have been messed with?? I had a 325i with a gruupe M carbon ind kit and it was quicker than a 172 clio that i test drove..not the best comparision but you see what i mean.

Or it could be the MAF or a coil pack on the scoob.

ive been in the car and normally it leaves stuff like that for dead especially where he lives
possibility he's knocked the MAF when getting to the airbox to change the panel filter???
if its coil packs he will have to take it to his mates to get looked at as he runs a garage, i can do some things but when it involves coil packs i leave it well alone, can fit exhaust, change brakes and other small things like oil changing but thats outta my league.
told him he's best off getting it looked at as thats what i do if im not sure about something on my scooby. but he usually askes me 1st to see if he can save himself some money!!

Not a bad vid as a comparison...Say your brother's got maybe 225 BHP ish and the Beemer has 198 BHP i'd hardly say he could leave one for dust.I've got 320 Brake and i have to keep on my toes for the likes of the Astra VXR's with 240! I beat them mind but unless you have a massive HP advantage on normal roads races can be close.
