Replacing the clutch on a ford ka
Booked a holiday yesterday to magaluf. Me, the misses and two girls 5&6. Thompson super family hotel, so great. We fly out there on friday. Took her car today and the clutch is slipping badly. I asked the other half about it and she said I didn't notice. Women!
Anyway, I got a new clutch for it for £40. Anybody, here fitted one. I'm ok on cars but wondered if it worth my while or not. I can handle half a day under her car, if it's just a couple of bolts and lifting the engine.
Then I walk in tonight and the cold water tap in the kitchen comes off in my hand. So the second part of sunday will be replacing that. I wish my holiday would have started before everything went wrong.

with older endura 1.3 aboout 2-2.5 hours on a ramp. later 1.3 and 1.6 duratec engine approx 3ish hours on a ramp. if doing on the floor add about 1 hour approx to each for messing about. good place to gauge your times depending on your ability, those times are approx for me, i am a fully trained/qualified mechanic and i have had lots of ford dealership experience - hope this helps

garage charges about 100 quid labour to fit also which is a option as its not a hard job but lining up the shaft on the box on the plate ( worse if you aint got it aligned) and the popping out the shafts can be a ****
but half a day WITH HELP is possible but you will need help !
