I'm wanting to get my factory skirts painted on my UK Turbo. I was told by a garage that they couldn't guarantee the work, because of the texture of the skirts. Has anyone had any problems with the quality of the paintwork for those that have had this done (search is down)?

Tony speak to Stuart or Chris at Autovogue on 01785-220101 and say Richard sent you.

They are specialist car painters - I 100% recommend the quality of their work.

Had minde done from new (by the dealer), and was initially very pleased with them.

However, 18 months on and they are starting to crack and peel quite badly.

Would be interested in hearing how other people have got on.

My skirts are pleated Tartan...MacDonald.. I haven't painted them to match my car colour yet and I am sure I will have problems with the texture, but ignoring that I am sure apart from some initial itching the effect will be well worth it.

Tony:
Make sure whoever does the job uses:
1) An adhesion promotor for the primer
2) Adds a special flex agent to the primer/colour/clear paints to allow them to flex and not crack up or flake off.

Some paint shops also treat the side skirt with a special chemical to neutralise "oils" embedded in the plastic.

Tony i had a old shape wrx. I had the sills and the door handles colour coded, i had the car for 18 months after that and there were no issues regarding the paint flaking off etc.
WT Boroughs in Watford is where i had the work carried out.

In short take it to a professional garage and get a quality guarantee on the work. It really makes a world of difference to the look of the car.
