Just had the cambelt replaced and the gearbox selector repaired at Cotswold Subaru in Witney, Oxfordshire. They have phoned me with a list of things they would reccomend replacing, below are these items inc the vat and labour

1) Anti-Roll Bar Bushes Top & Bottom All Round = £309

2) Engine Rocker Covers = £209

3) Right-Rear Inner Drive Shaft Seal = £108

4) Resinator Air Intake Pipe Doesn't Fit = £135

Seemed like alot of money to me and told them not to bother, I'm going to look elsewhere, I'm not really mechanicly minded, how much of the above could I do myself? Or, how much should I expect to pay at a reasonable price?

Just got a rough estimate over the phone from Subaru 4 You in Newbury.

Below are the results:

1) Anti-Roll Bar Bushes Top & Bottom All Round = £200

2) Engine Rocker Covers = £180

3) Right-Rear Inner Drive Shaft Seal = £85 (he seems to think this is a diff seal?)

4) Resinator Air Intake Pipe Doesn't Fit = £FOC!!! (he said he's probably do this for nothing if I went through with the above)

Sound about right??

Sounds like the first garage tried to shaft you !! I'd stay away
