HELP!!!! OVER HEATING!!!
bloody thing!
My scooby decided to over heat today
the top hose is getting hot, but the radiator isnt, nor is the bottom hose.
the heaters get hot
I suspect a blocked radiator or air lock, but has anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks!!!

Also worth checking is the sides of the rad, sometimes they split due to being plastic, this expands to let the water out but then recedes, making the leak hard to find. Any watermarks on your splitter is a giveaway.
It happened to my MY97UK, new rads are about 50-60 pound.
Also its about 7.5 litre of water to refill this system.

Probably an airlock or blocked Rad. Take the top left hoses off. I had an overheating problem back in January. I fitted a new thermostat and the problem was still there. I took the bottom rad hose off...the problem was still there. I took the top 3 little rad hoses off and hey presto the sound of air escaping from the rad....problem solved.
Well i would have said the same thing here. either thermosat or air block.
Mine over heated the firstday but found to be cracked rad, but was all under warranty so no problems there on my 3rad now but only because the 3rd one is new due to front end accident.
Not sure if there is a bleed nipple on the top house as it enteres the engine cooling system (had one on my civic) try turning it slowly while engine is running if air then let it bleed to water comes out. If its just water then should be ok.
Also try a pressure test not sure if it would work if blocked but worth a shot

Fiddly to undo, i didnt bother, i just undone the 3 small hoses which connect to the header tank as mentioned. Makes filling up easier too.
