Ideas for my wife's car

My wife owns a 1 litre Micra. Don't start.. She does'nt want to change it, so I've been looking for a way of making more interesting for the rare occasions when I drive it.

You either have a very understanding wife or are a lot braver than most. Isn't the Micra the one on that advert "Ask before You borrow it"? How does the wife feel about the proposed new mods to her pride and joy or is it a secret for her birthday?

you can buy a ice/snow racing kit from Nissan. (probably not your local dealer though)It is basically used to convert your average 1.0L Micra into a 4WD 3.4L twin turbo 750BHP monster. This was featured on Top Gear a couple of years back. The only drawback's where that you lose that back seats and it is a bit expensive. (I think it was in the region of 30k...)

Didn't Nissan once do a Micra Super Turbo, with a supercharger *and* a turbocharger? Actually, I'll admit the reason I know this is because I found it in Gran Turismo 2 (or was it 1?)

My girlfriend has a 1.0 litre micra ally as well - it even has a little spoiler on the back
In a straight line the car must be one of the slowest on the road, but does seem to possess quite a reasonable amount of cornering grip for the type of car.
Somehow I derive a perverse sense of pleasure from driving it. It's kind of satisfying to extract everything you can from the car. In urban/non-residential areas (e.g. dual carriage-way/roundabout Milton Keynes, Stevenage) it's nice to make better progress than all the lazily driven BMs and the like.
So my advice would be to keep it. It's the perfect contrast to something like the scoob, which is so easy to drive fast.

Thankfully I did'nt hit anything in it when I went barrelling round a roundabout on forgot that Micra's don't do that kind thing. The front end went all twitchy and it then understeered like mad, but I gathered it up and was soon on my merry way.
Actually because of the gearing it's quite nippy in town. The second worst thing about it, apart from the 1 litre engine is the gold-yellow colour, which my wife loves but I hate. I think she did it on purpose
