Unhappy Boost issue

I have a my03 wrx with boost problems. Ok, I thought it was the boost solenoid so I replaced it today and everything was fine. Then tonight with the different boost solenoid fitted after 20 minutes of full boost (great), the sh!tty low boost issue.

Is the 2 port boost solenoid no good for my car? Im running 311bhp, boost set at 1.3 bar by JGM.

I haven't got a boost gauge unfortunately, but it's boosting so low or not all.

Then I'll come to start the car tomorrow and drive it, then it's back on song. Full boost.

Anybody, got any idea what's wrong or had simliar issues.

What made you think the solenoid had packed up, sounds like limp mode? Your best bet is to get JGM to take a look although we're only in North Weald if you get stuck and need someone local to take a look for you.

Thanks for getting back. I spoke to Simon and he said it might be the boost solenoid, hence tte reason for changing it. He told me to go over and see him and he'd have a look at it for me. Just wondered if anybody else had a similar thing happen.

Took it out today. Full boost all the time. Strange how it only happens sometimes.

I was going to say limp mode but I didn't think the scooby had it. That's exactly what it feels like when it happens. It does it to protect the engine when there's a problem, is that right? I think I'll go and see Simon.
