my car has started ticking at low revs ( 1500 revs ) it has dropped in boost pressure as well. am i right in thinking that this is the boost solenoid behind the air filter?

 

My my03 wrx didn't have the clicking noise but was not boosting at all. Then it would boost and then go to low boost. Completely frustating when 1.2 fiesta's were going past me on my way to work. I cleaned the boost solenoid with brake cleaner and it back to full boost. I posted in the wanted section and got a one delivered for £7.50. It's ok at the moment. I just wanted it in case I got the same problem again. I hope it is the same fix for you.

I suggest you try cleaning your boost solenoid first like I did. Then test your car to see if it boosts better. Good luck!

If it does improve things then I have the PM from a guy who's selling one for £10 delivered.

 

off to get some brake clener!! really annoying. car normally run 1.5 bar but has dropped to 1.2 which makes abig difference

 

Might be the up-pipe to the turbo blowing.

 

tried brake cleaner. no difference. got tanabe titaniun up pipe but will check anyway. it mayb a tapping noise in this case though i would here it in the engine bay but it sounds fine. can only here it in the car with the windows up. really annoying me now!!!
