Basically, 215/45/17 aren't in production, nor is there a date for them to go into production.

Ummm strange I thought 215/45/17 was a popular size. I had the F1 GSD3's on my old WRX and I was very impressed with those if its any help.

exactly, hence the email to Goodyear. I thought CTR's etc used that size as well. Ah well, I may have to defect to Vredestein Sultana's

and they'll go on a 7j rim no probs.

just giving my two cents. please dont have a go.

Standard tyres are 215/45/17, that's what's on mine from new, and also what it says in the handbook. I did post a question about using 225's as have a few other SNetters, but not had any definitive replies. The tyre places I've spoken too have made comments like "won't fit rims", "more than my job's worth to fit wide tyres", "illegal to fit anything other than what OEM list".

How DARE you stick your nose in where it's not wanted

Thanks for your input, I'll have a think about 225's. My RE050's are $hagged due to duff geometry, now fixed.

Exclamation

I'd be worried about 225 GYA's on a 7J TBH..

They do come up a lot wider for some reason..!

See my post in the thread linked above..

Fantastic tyres though, wouldn't consider anything come replacement time..

Do WRX and STIs have different sizes then as I am sure my RE070s were 225s?

The RE070s are not a patch on the GF1As, both handling and looks wise IMHO... and I liked the RE070.
