Default Value of 22B

Hi Chaps

my friend imports Japanese cars and is looking at a 1998 22B, the car is what i would call messy, the clutch is slipping and the bonnet and spoiler have peeling paint, it also has an aftermarket steering wheel, generally it looks ok but used rather than loved, it would owe him 14k imported but not fixed, does this seem a worthwhile purchase?

I would appreciate your input, my veiw is its lots of unknown work and lots of outlay and it took me forever to sell my very mint Type R so a 22B will be hard to sell later, his veiw is its a 22B and worth saving what do you think?

Thanks

Ray

I'd be worried about front end paint peeling and different steering wheel, are you sure it's not had a front end smash at some point?
More investigation required!

it looks pretty rough and the badge is black not pink etc so i wouldnt rule out a light bump, the inner wings etc look ok though, just generally very rough so i'm not sure its worth the effort, i assume they take a long time to sell too??

Wouldn't bother IMO. Better off spending high and getting a nice clean example. Buggered paint is usually for a reason.

Not worth the hastle and effort IMO. It's an iconic car and future buyers will be wanting something genuine and trouble-free. A few more £'s for a clean (possibly UK) example would be much more worthwhile.

i think for the cost of repairs and your car then you'd be buying a very nice mint 22b

Used rather than loved is what you said and that would be enought to make most stay away, it waould always sell easier than a Type R cause of what it is, but the money to put straight good be good car money in the end.
