Default Can anyone help me please

Help on this one please guys and gals, I have an impreza turbo 2000 W'reg, Ok from what ive read Im pretty sure its a MAF failure, I was driving along tonight and the engine cut out on me (I was on full boost about 5000rpm in 3rd) I pulled over and tried to start her up again and she fired straight away but my CEL light was on. I Disconnected the MAF and the engine carried on running. With the MAF still connected the car will idle for a bit and then just randomly stall, Tick over also seems a little low to me. If I try and rev the car up under load it starts popping and banging like its been fed by a kangaroo, It also wont rev properly on the spot.
I have checked the wiring to the MAF and connections are good and I have removed the MAF and cleaned it but problem still remains.
Any ideas on what you think it might be?
Cheers in advance.

Sound's like the same problem I used to have with mine...

Thought it was my ECU and took it to Andy Forrest to have him check it over.
Turned out it was the MAF, it'd been damaged. If they are dropped from ankle height then they're broken and can't be used.

If you havn't had it that long take it back for a refund/exchange or buy another one and that should solve your problem for you.

i would simply visit your nearest subaru specialist and buy a new m.a.f. sensor. seems to point to this. id personally ring said specilaist up and find out whether theyre in stock and go collect it. on my99-00 scoobs they are just soo fragile, i wouldnt trust the post with one. about £90 inc vat if im correct. just ask for the sensor, not the housing, thats around £300 from a dealers

Me sure it has the green marker printed on it: thats the improved later-type.
