Default Scooby Withdrawal

As some of you know, whilst overtaking, the car in front of me also chose to overtake - when I was up past his backdoors!

The cars been off the road for 3-4 weeks now and I'm really getting withdrawal symptoms.

Fair enough I havn't had to worry about recent fuel strikes but driving the girlfriend's Corolla round is'nt as much fun.
After 3 weeks I still can't seem to pull away without lighting the front end up

I want my AWD back.

Anyone else get withdrawal symptoms when the scoobs off the road?

Big time mate!!

My car has been off the road for about 3 weeks now too

I also have a wee Mk2 Fiesta XR2 which is great fun to drive but obviously just does not compare to the Scoob.

The wife has a 1.6 Megane which we normally use for the everyday commute, it is a little bit quicker than the XR2 but that is in the body shop just now after she took the side of it along the next door neighbours front wall, so she has some little Hyundai Mr Men car which is worse than bad and as you can see, very embarassing.

Parts have started to arrive for the scoob now so hopefully it wont be too long before I have the Scooby Smile again

Mine was off the road for 5 months after the engine popped and it is still not 100% but at least I finally got it back a week ago, so I know exactly what you are going through. I am still waiting on a new mid pipe and some gaskets to finish building mine and then for Bob to remap it properly. Then it should be back to its former glory. The speck of mine is in my Plus profile.

Not as bad as having to use pubic transport for a month when my Scoob was in the bodyshop. A month of waiting for buses not too turn up whilst stood in the rain and a journey that took 50mins if you were lucky rather than 15mins in a car

Won't have policy now that doesn't give a loan car

I used public transport once in the 5 months to get to work, it consisted of a 5 minute walk to the bus stop, 10 minutes to get to the bus depot at the opposite end of town to where I work, a 5 minute walk to the train station, a 25 minute wait for the train which took 5 minutes to get to the next stop, then a 15 minute walk to work. So an hour to do 6.5km, it would have been quicker to walk!!!

I have nothing intelligent or relevant to add, but just wanted to say that I've often worried about this happening when I've been overtaking. I tend to find that once the turbo kicks in you can be alongside the car in front before they'd even have had chance to realise you were going to pass them...

Have you had any problems with your insurance company or anything like that?

Does anyone get the regular arseholes who see you starting to boost and pull out in front of you in purpose just to annoy you?
Do any of you get the people in their **** cars who smile at you as if to say "look at that prat" when you know deep down they just really wish their missus wasnt so tight and let them buy one!!!

lol yeah to both, especially middle-aged blokes in F reg orions, escorts or old mondeos that give u dirty looks, then me n my missus jus look back and grin knowing my cars worth a whole lot more than his peice of crap. And alot of people do pull out on me on purpose ive found.....does my head in. its normally some 40-50yr old loser in his company car or a rubbish car that ur wheels are worth more than. if they do that then after iv over took them ill sit infront of them real slow, untill they get annoyed and go to overtake, then ill pull forward, making them pull in again, then ill do the process again and again til they lose their rag and give me the finger in the mirror...then im off, lol. job done and i assure he wont be doing that to another person again

Most of the lads i work with think that ive just got some ridiculous big exhaust they call it the dustbin lid which i find funny i tell them its for performance but there all late 30s + and there version of peformance is a car with a cd player. I love there faces when i drop the odd one off home after i spool the old turbo up.

pah, lightweights! mine has been OTR for 10 months now, even though its perfectly driveable.

Must be getting old, but the 15 mpg max is making any pain seem a tad insignificant.

I've been reliably informed by workm8's that they could get their head in my tail pipe and it's as big as our lunch table..
People who purposely will not move out of the way,get straight into the middle/outside lane for the duration of their journey and grizzle when you undertake...that's whta I h8..
And less of the ageist remarks some of us are....damn I can't remember...

Agree totally I managed to get 3 w@nker signs in one morning. Now I just wave at the w@nker signs. Had this tosser in a 1.8t a4 today sat at 65mph outside lane, nothing in front of him. Didn't pull over for 10 minutes. When he did move over he accelerated up to over a 100. I went past him like he was stood still. Why do these people have such a problem? It's a standing joke at work how many w@nker signs I can get before I arrive.
