If you see the flames or sparks it means it's catless then?

I would first ask them to leave politely, before threatening them with a fire extinguisher.

Should get the little blighters out of there!

Isn`t that about right then? You boot it and the exhaust is red hot, you bounce off the dump valve......PTSHHHHHHH, over-fuel and then POP/BANG and flame

The other way to do it is to rev hard in 3rd/4th and hit the rev limiter Although I dont endorse that option

i jus thought that any petrol turbo wold flame? i know there are somethings that encourage it. but to one guy up there, in my case what you said aint true

my car was completely standard when i bought it. it did have a powerflow system, but from centre piece back and backbox, so the cat wasnt touched, that popped and flamed.

now the car still has the custom powerflow centre section but with a blitz nur spec backbox fitted, that now pops and flames jus like in that youtube video does, except mine are more neater like ud see on a jetplane, rather than the flamethrower type flames in the video. i have a dump valve on mine also, but that wasnt fitted til my blitz was fitted, and it stil flamed and popped!

i would imagine tho that yes, if a ful decat system would burn alot more unused fuel through the system, as its mostly going straight through. i certainly wouldnt encourage a flame with a spark plug! that scoob u have 20w/ascooby is THE first turbo car EVER where iv seen the owner felt to put a spark plug in the exhaust to encourage larger flames, ive only ever seen it on other cars. If anyone has been to a big show sometime over last 5 years, where all cars are welcome, or if uve bin to USC at santapod over the years, ull remember one eyar on a flameout competition that my mates bright red astra won, they were bloody massive flames. but on a scooby??? naah

Well, mine pops nicely with a recirc DV although I do have a decat. Perhaps the VTA does help, but the decat is defo the way to go if you want this effect IMO.

I'm rather hoping mine doesn't flame lol

You'll hear it popping and gurgling away on the over-run. And occasionally a loud bang when the dump valve vents!
