You have my permission to laugh at me so carry on
Was cocking around with my dials a few weeks back as I was getting hacked off with how dim the bulbs were. Anyway decided to take off the front plastic covering and have a look underneath the dials to see if there was anything I could do to improve the situation. In doing so I managed to **** up the pointers. First time around the speedo would drop down in increments as though it was stuck. Had another go at it and now it drops better, but starts at 22mph from cold and at rest
So now when I drive I seem to be leaving my driveway at a fantastic speed of nearly 40 mph
Anyone got any bright ideas on how to fix this or have I buggered them completely.

Been there and got the T-shirt! I took my pointers off to fit dials on a T4 a few years back and after that I didn't have a clue what my actual speed or RPM's were
. To make things even worse, I could only get a kit which read KMH (well only Scandanavians are stupid enough to mod Volvo's
)
Oh well - sorry I can't help - got rid of the T4 soon afterwards for another scoob - I just wanted you to know that there are other numptys out there

The latter has nothing to do with the thread, I just liked it and thought you might too!!

Had loads of trouble with my lockwood dials a couple of years ago, ended up having to send the whole dash pod thing to a company to have the speedo calibrated again, was fine after that!

Well you lot will be happy to know, that after sorting out a second hand set of clocks, my speedo is all sorted and illumination is spot on
In addition I sorted out the broken spinner/loom connection to the steering wheel, so my airbag light now goes off and my horn works again...god how you miss the small things like a horn
Double bonus........my wing mirrors havent worked or months, no idea why ?
Checked the fuses all okay. Guessed it was the switch in the centre console, so took it apart and guess what ???
yup , had forgotten to reconnect it months ago

I used to have a Pajero and a load of the guys on the Paj owners club forum bought the Lockwood white dial kits. There was loads of threads just after a GB asking for help as they'd bent speedo needles and all sorts, so your not on your own mate.
Nice to get all the other bits working though as well

i had to drive down the road behind a mate, who was instructed to drive at 30mph, and then carefully put the need back on so it said 30mph.
