First off you will need a apexi power commander for that car.

Get yourself over to ebay and pick one up much cheaper then ud get one from here. The £100 you safe can then go towards the remap.

Were to remap it? I don't know im from london

Apexi Power FC and Commander - Subaru WRX 3 4

Also what will this help with and what power gains would i be looking at?

Yes you need the Power FC (the commander sets up the FC but is useless by itself)...or the LINK ECU orone of the others...

On a 97STI, you should be able to get to about 330bhp with the hardware you have, up from the current 280ish.

As above: the Commander is useless without the ECU that it controls. The A'PEXi PowerFC is good, but Id look at the Simtek too...

Being an imported STI can i not just have the current ecu remapped?
if not i take it its just best to upgrade anyway which would help with anyother mods?!

Dave

P.s what would it take to get to around 360/360
