Default Hydra ECU mapping changed? Help!

Hi,
We have a 2006 Spec C which has a decatted replacement exhaust and Hydra ECU remapped by Richard Bulmer.

Now we have always been amazed at the power of the thing, it has been totally manic. I was told a conservative estimate is 360bhp, and have seen others advertised at 380, which I could well believe.

It would pull crazily with turbo shrieking from just over 2000rpm....until yesterday.

My wife told me that going down a slip road it just cut out, no power at all as if it had stalled, but then came back a second later.

Since then it has run ok, but it feels like it has lost 50 bhp, the turbo is cutting in later, below 3000rpm it feels a bit dead, and shriek sounds a bit muted.

Any ideas? I was wondering if we have a bad tank of Tesco 99. Has the ECU switched to a different map, will it adjust itself back automatically, or will it need reprogramming?

I thought it felt a little better at the end of the day, but perhaps this was wishful thinking.

Is this a common thing?

Maybe a boost leak somewhere, split hose?

Get it to your tuner to make sure, no point guessing. If there's no nasty noises hopefully nothing major.

Unfortunately it was done oop north. So I can't take it back to them, but I'll give them a call.

Really what I was wondering is whether this sort of thing happens generally if you get a bad batch of fuel.

Can't you just reset the ECU and then give it time for the learning parameters?

I'm hoping that this is exactly what it has done...

There is a reason why it's gone into safe mode though. The fuel could be it.

or a more serious reason, give tracktive a call but realistically they need to see the car or find a friendly subaru garage to check it over and discuss select monitor findings with mapper!good old stan palmers

The Select Monitor will be about as much use as breasts on a fish with the Hydra!

Mark,
This could be anything mate..... take some guided advice and get someone that knows what they are doing to look at it. As a first point of call I would speak to Richard at Tracktive. I certainly wouldnt be driving it hard if the engine had performed that drastically different, until it had been checked out.
