First problem with scooby
Have my first issue with my newish Impreza...here goes...
Basically I'm getting a squeaking noise when I step on my brakes (can't tell which ones), but the pads seem like they still got a lot left and the very strange thing is, there is no squeaking when the car is wet, ie. if it is raining or I have just had the car washed.
Any ideas what it might be before I take it to Subaru?
Would this be covered under warranty as its an '06 car.

Copper Slip!!
I had the same problem as you.
Had some work done on my Scoob n Friday & mentioned it to the Mechanic.
Whipped of the Front Wheel, undid the nut at the back of the pads flipped up the cover and painted some Copper Slip on the plate where the pads have contact on the plate.
He then got a gramp & SLOWLY pushed the Cylinders/Pistons back into place.
SECOND ONE VERY SLOWLY!!
APPARENTLY THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
Put Front Wheels back on, slowly try the brakes until they bind.
After that No squeaks, & brakes are a lot more receptive.
Worked for me hope it works for you.

mine dont do that but,.. they klonk when i go from first to reverse and reverse to first. then they are fine. winds me up !!!!!! only since i replaced them aswell. apparently its ok but it sure as hell is annoying
