Sold up :-(
Well after a very short (but pleasureable) ownership I've sold my beautiful 2000 classic. Shortly after buying the car I was given the wonderfully timed news that I was being made redundant and with a pregnant girlfriend I was forced to sell up straight away
. Absolutely gutted about it but I'm confident the lad I sold it to will look after it. Thanks for your warm welcomes when I joined and I look forward to seeing the scoobynet owners cars in force at the shows this summer. Keep up the good work guys!

sorry to hear selling of scoob fella
,but its a sad fact the way the economys going there will be a few more scooby owners facing the decision to sell or struggle to keep ownership. all the best.

its gonna be hard for a lot of people with scooby's with petrol prices rising every week and the 2001 onwards tax hike but I would have kept mine and stomached the costs if it wasn't for the redundancy and bun in the oven!
oh well, it was awesome while it lasted and I'll be looking on with envy when I see a Scoob drive by.

Yep its a bit of a bitch.
Got the money for my next one and also some to run it in the short term....so so badly want my next classic.
BUT with these uncertain petrol prices and an uncertain income...I am just sat on it. I am going to see what this year brings.
Sometimes you have to use your head and not your heart
Good luck

A 2000 classic is NOT that expensive to run unless you're doing big miles and modding all the time - I should know, I've been running a '99 one for five years and I'm by no means well off. Four doors and a boot, mega reliability when looked after properly, the wagons even more practical.... I fail to see why anyone would have to sell up immediately when one's girlfriend became pregnant.

I know the classics aren't quite so expensive to run but still out of my budget at the minute, as much as it pains me. To give you an idea, I'm now driving the mrs' ka!
