Default Bad smokey smell after decent run

Everytime I take my car out for a ride, I get a bad smokey smell when i give it some revs. Does anybody else have this? There isn't any smoke, just an oil burning smell. I checked the oil and it's not losing any. The brakes smell but what don't after hard braking. Is this common when you up the power on your car. Mines my03 wrx with 311bhp. Apart from the smell the car runs great.

Yeah i'd go for either Clutch or Maybe the Cat if you have any, is it nasty harsh smell? If so Clutch or is it a Eggy stinky smell? If so Cat.

Think all high performance cars Stink!!

As in smell!

I had a Bently overtake me a bit rapid the other day.

Black smoke out of his bottie & stinkie smell!

They are not a CHEAP Motor so to me, if they stink, why shouldn't we?//

Regards

It's possibly a very minor oil leak, I had a weepy gasket on a previous Scooby, which only showed up as a burning oil smell when it got nice and hot. The dealer fixed it on a service by loosening some bolts off, then torqueing them back up again. I guess it reseated the gasket. I think it might of been a rocker cover or something

Maybe it is excess fuel because of the increase in power. My exhaust is now soot black which it never used to be. Just wondered if this was common modified scoooby owners. Thanks.

Thats my guess as I put a new turbo, decat u/p, sport cat d/p before remap recently. I'll try torquing the bolts tomorrow because the oily smell is making me feel sick. Cheers.

had the same stench on my03 wrx as well. very small oil leak near cambelt cover.
the worst bit was it used to come into the cabin when you put the blowers on.
replaced the oil pump as it was pretty much knakered , no leaks now, but still a faint whiff of burnt oil, which will not go.

I've got the same as well. I replaced one side of the rocker cover gasket, but noticed oil from the top of the other gasket. ****ing pain in the *** as there not cheap, and a bitch of a job to do. It's actually on top of the rocker cover and theres a couple of things on top of the rocker on my 93 wrx that I dont know what they are and wondering if there leeking.

That exactly what mine does and the smell with the blower on makes me feel sick. How would I know if the oil pump has gone? How much are they? Thanks for you responses everybody.
