Popping after a new turbo fitted
Hi
My 02 sti type uk (standard)was popping as i release the accelerater, it had been doing for 2-3 weeks and had deteriated the performace to a level where a diesel cars were overtaking!
Got the car checked and was told its my turbo needs replacing!
Bought a new turbo had it fitted and is now back to what i expect very quick!
The problem is that the popping had damaged both my cats and is now running without cats and still is popping but louder!
The mechanic says its a possibility i need a remap or the ECU has a fault!
Can any body please shed some light on this please!
Also i have booked it with racing line for a roller road test on the 13/6/08 .

wheter you have changed like for like, if the cats are gone, then you have almost a full decat exhaust and as such you need a remap.
Unless you get the cats back on.
hope this helps!

Either get the Cats out or checked!!
My Cat was slowly disintegrating, bits were being sucked into the Blower & eventually screwed the Blades!
Fitted a decatted STI Up Pipe no problems since!!
Good luck.
