Pre-flight checks
Afternoooon
My imprezas been parked up for 8months now, im hoping to start it up on sunday and give it a run, take it down the road etc
iv fitted lots of new stuff so obviously il check everythings tight like a tiger before going out in it..just wondering what else i should check also?
noticed the throttle cable may need lubing up as its a tad sticky - easiest way to do this??
also got a clutch squeek, but iv wd40'd it up to the nuts and its still squeeking grr - what else shall i WD?
il obviously warm it right up etc..anything else???

Well tbh 8mth the fuel will be crap, the brakes are likely to be in an awful state, gear oil/engine oil will need to be changed.
Tyres will need to be checked, imho i would think a trip to the mechanic would be a better idea, if you can get the car towed.

Rims are new and wrapped in fresh toyo rubber, oil has been changed so is practically new, brakes are been replaced as soon as it backs out the garage along with exhaust

would sugest you turn it over without firing by removing plug leads to get fuel to injectors as it will of evaporated by now.
last time I stored a car for 9 months the clutch had stuck to the flywheel. hope you dont have the same trouble

i wouldn't personally recommend turning the engine over without letting fire, as you would probably end up causing more damage than good, as for the fuel pressure simply turn the ignition on and off will be sufficient to prime the fuel rails.
