Default Rad differences?

Is there any difference in an Sti rad and a uk rad on a classic, can both run the 1.3 bar caps. Is the sti better?

Yea, just wondering which one to replace it with, it went in the top left corner in the middle of the end piece? Just wondered if running the 1.3 rad cap could have been a factor?

I'd recommend an Ally one.
Did your's go around the plastic? This is a common problem with classics.

No there is no difference between the radiators.

The cars when new are quite capable of running the official Sti updated cap, but as I said in your thread yesterday, as the car gets older, the higher pressure will cause components to fail earlier than they normally would. You could as has been said, fit an aftermarket ally rad which would be much stronger, but you have to bear in mind that the rest of the cooling system components are as old as the radiator that has just split.

Judging by the fact you have asked the question about rad caps again today, you seem determined to run your cooling system at the higher pressure, but as was said yesterday, there is no need to on a road car & you are getting no benefit from it apart from a pink sticker under your bonnet. They are meant for competition use on cars that are regularly maintained.
