Had a STi Spolier fitted which I bought from Scoobyworld, All good except where the Brake light wire comes through the boot where the gromit is water is leaking through there around the side and where the wire comes through the middle of the gromit, Any ideas what I can do with out it looking a bodge.

Some sort of sealent I can get from B&Q or something???

Ay advice would be great.

Cheers

Just use normal clear bathroom sealant and seal from the inside or get a tighter fitting gromet

I did think about getting a tighter gromet but water is getting through tthe centre of the gromet as well where the wire comes through so any gromet I get would do the same thing.

Unless I take the gromet out and put sealant then put the gromet back in then seal it again maybe??

Get a gromet with a long tail for wires which you can cut to fit the wire thickness and then where the wire comes through wrap them and the gromet tail with self amalgamating tape.....totally watertight

yea thats what I mean, when I took the gromet out the spolier does not sit flat on the boot lid where the wire come through the boot lead so I can just seal it together as such if you see what I mean.

How does the spoiler not sit flat on the boot lid, is that the way the spoilers meant to be or is that the way it came out of the mould. when i fitted a spoiler i used tiger seal to help stick it an seal water from the bolts holes, also used it to stick top spoiler to rear window it wouldnt move even at 130 strong stuff

Not sure if its meant to be like that!? When I took the gromet out the spolier was sitting right on the lid when the wire comes through to the boot. Where Can I get tiger seal from, Never heard of it to be honest.

Any one show me a Pic of how the under side of the boot lid where the wires come through so I can see if its the same as mine. On the old WRX spolier the gromet fitted into the spolier then the wire cam out and went through the boot but the groment sat on the spolier and the boot lead to seal. Sti one dont seem to be like that.
