Make sure you have your oven on the lowest setting, and put the headlamp units at the bottom, keep checking them every 2 minutes or so. Then gently prize apart, as the mastic is extremely sticky, plus goes hard quite quickly, so you may need to put them back in the oven for a couple of mins after removing the tangoed bits.

for me the hardest bit was having to flex the wing to get the
headlight unit out
well worth the effort though
did mine today thinking it would be easy on the hawkeye

go for it mate, I would re-seal it with extra stuff like you mentioned! If they do not seal properly its only a case of doing it again though!

hi im new to the forum
ive just de tango,d my sti 53 plate after my trip to the scooby shoot out

what i need to now is what bulbs do you put in i dont want to paint the clear ones , sorry if its a common question but i have searched thanks guys

any links would be great

The guide I used was I've been de-tangoed - Subaru Impreza Drivers Club worked a treat not as bad as folk have been saying worst bit his pushing the headlight of those clips.
