New Car Discount.com goes bust
This is a heads up for anyone who is about to take delivery of a car from them (and hence send them money). As of today, officially, they have gone into administration. New-Car-Discount.com Latest News
Please make sure you don't send any money to them. They owe massive amounts of money. A family member decided to use them, and we just escaped being caught out.
Allegedly they have been taking delivery of cars from main dealers on account. Buyers have then paid NCD, who have then NOT paid the dealers for the cars they delivered. Dealers are owed massive amounts, and customers are not likely to receive the cars that you ordered through NCD.
Its not all bad news though. NCD have been placing orders for the cars people wanted. This means the car you have been waiting for is likely to exist. If you do a little hunting you can find the supplying dealer, and they are normally more than happy to agree to sell the car directly to you. In our case, the supplying dealer even knocked some money off
EDIT: This has not worked for all people though. It would appear that in at least once case, allegedly, NCD sold the same car to more than one person... If you do track down your car, remember a few things...
1) the dealer does not want to be lumbered with it
2) the dealer will be feeling sore over being out of pocket with NCD
3) the dealer was happy to be paid less than the price you paid NCD. So you should be able to get a nice deal done that makes both parties happy.

Yup.... NCD take a deposit of about £500. Then, "just before" your car arrives they expect full payment. You pay, then your delivery amazingly slips....
Problems have been mounted over the past few months, and it would appear most people have been getting their cars, but up to 1-2 months after they have paid NCD for them in full. Recently though this has allegedly not always been the case. People are complained of paying NCD in full and never seeing either their money back, or their car. One chap even tracked down the car he was meant to have had delivered (by registration plate), only to find it was now owned by someone else.
People who have paid recently are really in trouble if it was not using a credit card.
Allegedly some dealers are even trying to repossess cars that customers have taken delivery for and have paid NCD. Allegedly NCD have failed to pass on the funds to the dealers, and as NCD were acting only as agents legal title is still with the dealer (or so I was told).
