Thanks to all who cheered me up through my dark days (gloom) of my skirmish with the barrier.
Have been in contact with the repairers and the insurance company have approved the work and they are now waiting on parts to go ahead with the fix. The nice lady at the repairers told me I would be looking at 3 weeks at the minimum, so it will give me some time to get very familiar with my pushbike and the weather At least the car will be a bit quicker when I get it back as it won't be carrying as much weight
The estimate for the cost was a snip over 3100 quid, so Mike Tuckwood wins the prize for nearest quote (I think ). Not that there was a prize
RoShambo, asked if I could keep any of the parts that are replaced, and was told they become the property of the insurance company, so I can't pass on the front spoiler to you mate, sorry
Thanks again for being a great community, and keeping me cheery. It's taken me about a week to get out of the mindset of 'if I had done this then it might not have happened' and now I'm just waiting for my baby back
Then need to see if I can keep it (financially) when we move house
Cheers

Glad to hear you are getting over it
I biffed mine in the snow on Friday - it's going in to get fixed tomorrow so I'm almost over the horrible apres-crash feeling. Luckily mine is only 1/10 of the price of yours to fix *breaths massive sigh of relief* as I'm forking out for it myself.
Happy driving when you get it back!
