well it happened......and you always think it will be somebody else.

On my way home through Bradford when at a juntion waiting to pull out...bump....a car ran into the back of my UK300.

Looked in my mirror....4 asians in a Rover 416. Got out.....looked at their VNU and tax disc.....everthing matched....until the driver got back in his car without saying much.....

Looked very dodgy at this stage and when I taked about insurance........got a smack in the face off one whilst the other was looking in my car to see if the keys were there.

Quickly realised they were not getting anything and proceeded to ram the back of my car and then scrape the whole Offside of mine as they drove off.

Uk300 badly damaged......and the police now tell me they had dodgy plates.

Injured but still alive.

Be careful. Bradford and Leeds is now the place for high-powered vehicle theft.....apparently coming up from the south....CID are closing in on them...unfortunately the same scum killed a father on New Years Day.

This is outrageous!

Glad you are okay, could have been a lot worse..

It is getting to the point where we will all have to drive a Mondeo so that we can keep it, and not get hurt...

Was feeling a bit worried and annoyed as a mate had a stereo nicked out of his car last night but that is nothing compared to this...

take it easy out there.

Does make you put life in perspective.

Wanted to have a go at them but sanity told me not to.

After the event the biggest thing is annoyance of the fact they can do that and they've got away with it.....

I'm left with the insurance bill which is a silly figure anyway.

Scum, Scum, Scum, Scum,

Glad you are ok in the end though.

Any cctv cameras in the area?

Having read another post like this a while ago it just makes me wonder what I'd do in your position!?!?

Glad you are ok.
Scary thing is I go to Leeds a lot.
This has confirmed my reluctance to get an STI. Anything I can do to minimise the looks of my car is a good thing.
I really worry this kind of thing might happen to my wife when she's in it.

**** Mate, I hope you are ok. The ******* *******..

There was another post I think by BuRR recently that mentioned these people. It seems that they will continue with it until they get either caught, or pick on the wrong person and get a bullet up their jacksy.

As long as you are ok....I don't think I'll be heading over Bradford way for a bit.

Jim

Changed as I had BuRR mixed up with Dubbs (soz!)

This is bl00dy ridiculous, why havent they been caught yet? seems they have done it enough times
what do they have to do? bump a police car?

The mother f****** have managed to scare people with performance cars from driving around Bradford and Leeds

Putting myself in this situation, it is difficult to know how i would react, the natural thing is to getout of the car and exchange details, but after hearing about these incidents i am going to think twice.
Maybe stay in the car lock the doors note the registration and phone the police?

Glad you are ok.

I'd like to know whereabouts too. I'll get someone to see if they can find any other cars that these tossers may be using too.

I live in Wakefield, and work in Leeds. Don't go to Bradford that often, but I certainly would like to know where to avoid if I do.

B@stards. Glad you're not badly hurt, esepecailly after that bloke was murdered by scum like these over New Year.

Local news in manchester is reporting that police are inverstigating 5 car jackings in the Bury area of north manchester last night. They think all 5 cases "might" be linked

Sorry to hear this too, scares the hell out of me with my girlfriend driving around in a Scooby too. Already warned her to look out for people following her, but what more can you do.
Does amaze me how they can get away with this for so long.
Glad you're OK.

The ironic thing is this was posted about just the other week but you don't believe it could happen to you........until it does! I hope you're not too badly injured and that you don't let this effect you in any way (easier said than done).

In my opinion "people" know who's doing this but their community "protects" them. This makes the polices job very difficult unless they catch them during the offence.

I for one will take extra care but I wont be put off driving a car I enjoy and am proud to own.

Someone should drive around in a target car as bait with 3 guys hidden in the back seats armed with baseball bats and when these little sods try it on they should smack 'em into next week.

Sorry to hear about what happened.

The important thing is that you were very alert to check the plates etc first, and also very wise to avoid conflict.

I'd like to say that I would think "self preservation" above all else, but you never know until it happens. I'm just as likely to get out and have a go at the guy for crashing into me in the first place.

Like the others said, the main thing is that you weren't badly hurt. The car is just metal and plastic.

Do look into this cctv thing though. The BBCTV centre bombers were caught on cctv cameras on the side of buses!

It is stupid that this thing has got so bad that it is putting people off buying nice cars.

Sorry to any old bill on the site, but I agree that the police do seem pretty useless when it comes to this sort of thing, as well as having your home burgled. The only time I ever see coppers is when they're pulling people over for breaking the speed limit.
I travel on motorways every day and see 100s of cars speeding safely (rarely see accidents which is surprising considering how long they take to clear!). Surely there are more important crimes to spend police resources on?

yes, I agree with BarryK, post the details of the car.
I live in Leeds and I hope that they never attack me, if they do their in for a nasty shock.
I have an asortment of "legal" weapons in my car within easy reach.
.....and I'm a self defence expert:-).
If anybody wants to learn the best self defence style around (Leeds) then give me a shout and I'll send you some details, its cheap at the price.
