What mats does it have? Do they say "Type UK"?
Does it have a tracker?

First page on the service book will say who supplied the car. That will tell you where it came from.

Imports don't usually have the factory alarm ultrasonics on the door pillars or the led in the normal place. The alarms are fitted once the cars get to the UK. If its an import it probably will have aftermarket alarm on it.

As above - check the logbook.. mine says type UK... but i took the 'type uk' badge off the back cos it looked ****... and changed the mats aswell cos they were a bit scruffy !... so no badge and no mats doesent necesarrily (sp) mean it aint a type uk. ..... also there will be a type uk sticker on the intercooler (if it hasnt gone manky and rubbed off!)

My brand new STi type UK came without rear badge or intercooler sticker, back in 03 They probably just run-out of the things! I never bothered to get them supplied.

Mine is de-pinked so no 'type uk' badge (& Silver/Grey STi badge), but as said, the intercooler will have a Type UK sticker on it.

There is an easy way to tell the difference...

On a UK car the IC spray bottle is in the boot but on an import the bottle is to the rear of the engine bay...
