Default Clutch/turbo time?

Holla folks,

Never actually posted yet, but have a real boring one....
Have classic wagon, with remap to 270 and few light mods to help.
I absolutely love my car, had it 4 years now and its the best car i have owned.
It's on 73k now and i have never had a new turbo or clutch fitted. Was told to leave it till it breaks. I dont drive it nuts and always keep it looked after, serviced, and regular good quality oil changes.
Im moving out to the sticks and will be traveling to work a good lot. looking at 300-400 miles a week. I really could use the 4x4 in the crappy weather so want to hang onto the car.
Obviously the mpg of the car is one problem i have. The other thing i need to weigh up is, how long do i have before turbo/clutch kicks the can? and how much am i looking at to have either done roughly?.

I do not want to give the car up and go tdi. Tell me some good news please.

The TD04 turbo is actually quite a reliable turbo so long as you dont abuse it, i.e let the oil warm up before nailing it and let it cool down with the engine running before you turn the car off especially at the end of a long journey.
270 bhp is just about at the maximum that the turbo can produce, so dont up the boost, otherwise you will blow it.
Clutch really depends on how hard you drive so its a bit hard to say

Good man, thanks for the advice. That will do for a good enough excuse to keep it. Im not ready to be sensible yet. Mind you if the fuel price gets worse then...nah ill still keep it.
