Afterburner Vortex v H+S Jap style backbox
Are these 2 exhausts exactly the same?
I have had the Vortex previously but I am considering the H+S as its cheaper and I believe H+S make the Afterburner.
How does the sound compare?
Thanks Bob

H&S do indeed make the Afterburner exhausts for us (always have done) however the Afterburner Vortex is not the same as their own 'jap-style' box. Although both are available as an 'angled exit' the design of the silencer is completely different, with their own one having very square shoulders (where the tail meets the silencer) as opposed to the Afterburner's which are sloped, and of course the Afterburner has the spiralled baffle inside, whereas the H&S Jap style does not.
Prior to going into production, H&S and ourselves did some rolling road testing, part of which were several back to back tests with spiralled baffle vs standard baffle and angled exit versus straight exit. I have had both. Both very similar (feel anyway) performance levels, but I thought the votrex was a just a tad too loud. A 3 inch H&S jap style system was very easy to live with everyday.
