Not another unmarked car - a Prodrived Scooby I take it? I've probably paid 5% towards it with my recent speeding fine!
The North Yorks Police mainly seem to have it in for Motorcycles - I've heard of people in cars getting caught doing higher speeds than I was and getting let off - or just receiving a fixed penalty.
Take it steady on the A59 / A65.
Cheers,
Ian E.

Saw the same white unmarked @ Scotch Corner on Friday night, laid-up with a marked car next to it, they where just chatting. Gave me a good glance as I went past, my mates where behind me, 1 in his ST24, the other in a 3litre peugeot.
We all pulled out of the services a bit quick, I was going to show my mates how fast it was on the A1, after he reckoned his ST24 might give the scoob a good go I think not.LOL
We all went past the police at about 20mph...
Whilst we are on this subject of the police.....I got pulled on the same night earlier on the A66 doing about 20mph over the limit by a dark blue unmarked peugeot. What a great copper, let me off completly. His exacts words where "I'll give you a late xmas pressie", ....I think I'll slow down a bit now anyway and take his advice.....

Mellow,
I ended up in Skipton Court last November for the speeding on my motorbike (98 in a 60).
The result was 6 points, £500 fine and £55 court costs - but no ban.
I did get legal representation - the costs were covered by the legal cover on my Insurance Policy. The total Solicitors bill was about £380 of which I had to pay just the VAT part.
The Solicitor had advised me prior to the Court that a short ban was extremely likely. The case he put forward on my behalf included:-
1/ License required for my job
2/ Clean License (except Speeding points from 5 years previous)
3/ Perfect conditions (backed up by Police statement)
4/ Little traffic (weekend of petrol crisis)
5/ Experienced Motorcyclist
He didn't help my case by mentioning facts such as I didn't have a mortgage, etc. My two major outgoings (Scooby & Motorbike) can't be put down on the means test form! Hence the big fine.
In some ways I might have been better off with a short ban although I don't know what effect this would have had on Insurance. With a short ban at least when you get your license back it has zero points.
My advice to anyone caught in similar circumstances is to say nothing to the Police. I asked the Police Officer if I could have a fixed penalty and this was brought up in Court!
Let me know how you get on Mellow - Good Luck - just pray the Magistrates are in a good mood!
Cheers,
Ian.

Hooksin,
Whereabouts on the A66 did you get pulled?
A mate recently got done on the trunk road through Grangetown in a well organised speed trap involving the blue Pug and another smaller silver one.
It is getting tougher all the time especially on the 50mph sections of the 66.
Bet you're glad of the early chrimbo pressie
