Default Facelift bonnet demand?

Got an idea floating about of changing to a C/F bonnet, Is there any demand for a facelift bonnet so I can sell mine on and get some money back?

If so what sort of money could I expect to get, Its dark blue with no dent but the normal stone chips along the front edge.....

If its the alloy type theres massive demand for them and could easily fetch £300

huge demand for facelift bonnets at the mo! there are companys on egay that do copy's for around £140ish but since youres is painted id expect around £150-200???????

Im considering buying one and taking a mould of it (me being a grp specialist) and making fibreglass ones!

well if your such a specialist you would have already though of offering carbon fibre ones too although fibreglass is a good option i guess as its lighter, but wouldnt it melt under high temperatures... im not a specialist like you

No point changing IMHO, the std alu one is impressivley light, given all the strengthening reqd on a CF or GF the weight savings would be marginal at best.

If I go through with the swap it would be for looks rather than weight saving.

Thanks for the info people, Its from a MY99 uk car so would it be the alloy one?

i was thinking of doing the same, i have a facelift ally bonnet and fancy cf

what is the weight difference between carbon and ally???

i think i would be getting it purely for looks, but don't want to spray mine black as it's just not the same is it.......

I am fibreglass specialist mate so we dont do much carbon (apart from my small projects ) which are hand layup parts. carbon bonnets are made from prepreg carbon which will need to be cured in a autoclave and i havn't really got a spare ££££££ to buy one.

You would use special high temp resin on bonnets etc and yes you can make them as light as you want. I think even roger clark uses fibreglass parts instead of carbon these days!
