s204 - proper special edition (and designed as such) loads of STI trickery to get the best that they could within a price band
rb320 - uk car in a skirt with a few spares catalogue items stuck on (just build your own)
not a tough choice really

I'd love to say the S204, but Warranty means a lot to me, to I'd have to go for the RB320.
If the S204 had a manufacturer backed warranty though...........
The only Impreza that could have kept me buying Subaru's

No disrespect to RB320 owners ,but it's not in the same leagure as the S204 and i don't see how you can compare the two as the S204 more or less wipes the fall with the RB320.

Anybody who knows anything about Imprezas shouldn't really be comtemplating this as there is, in my opinion, no comparison between the two.
The S204 gets a fully blueprinted, hand built engine, engine oil cooler, VF42 turbo, STI adjustable suspension, rose jointed rear lateral arms, rose jointed rear trailing arms, uprated STI ARB's, outer ventilated front discs, front and rear strut dampers made by Yamaha and those gorgeous Recaros.
Plus the exclusivity of the car in the first place.
There really is nothing to think about if you ask me. S204 without a doubt. I feel the RB320 was nothing more than a poor attempt to cash in on RB's name. It's just a glorified STI with PPP.

Performance wise, I know a std spec c will wipe the floor with an RB320, so an S204 should do too..
As said, wouldn't say no to either, but if it came down to it the s would get my vote..

A black STI with PPP, a shiny front grille and some different shocks and wheels. Hardly a thorough reworking is it? And when you compare the difference between a standard JDM STI and the S204, the difference is vast, which justifies the S204 being a limited edition car. If you had a black STI with PPP you could create the RB320 'look' for peanuts.

S204 - why anyone would say the RB320 out of those two is beyond me from a drivers perspective. From a looks perspective the S204 gets it as well; I'm one of the few people it seems who really doesn't like those grills and interior on the RB320.
The S204 would pin the RB320 to the ground and slap it silly.

don't really do imports, but in this case the S204 mind you i would change the spoiler and wheels. they're feckin hideous.
agree with the cashing in on the richard burns name on the RB320 comment i'm afraid, it's a lovely car and i'd be a happy owner if i had one, but how bloody dear is it for what you get?!
i'll go and give myself a slap, but hawkeyes really are growing on me now.
