I don't seem to be getting any interest. Any ideas why?

Been trying to sell since the beginning of March. Admittedly the new photos only went up a week ago. Had one person only come to look at it - he said I was wanting too much for it. (He then went on to say he'd looked at loads and was still looking). So was he looking for a mint condition car and not wanting to pay for it, or am I asking for too much? It's a lovely car, but it's 8 years old, so it's not mint condition. It's very good condition, just not mint.

I don't think Imprezas are ever quick to sell privately, unless you're very lucky. Now is a particularly bad time for any performance car I would expect, given the price of fuel and the general sense of pessimism over the economy.
Stick at it and it will sell, you just need the right person to come along!
Edited to add that it does look like an excellent example, especially with just 2 owners and FSH. Good luck!

Hi
Thanks for the advice
I'm already advertising on pistonheads and thought mine was priced quite well. Did a search for cars similar age and found mine to be one of the cheapest. Will give it a bit then drop the price again I guess. Had someone who was very keen to buy - he was going to drive 5 hours today to see/buy it but it turns out he can't get insurance without paying silly money. Maybe a young driver with bad history or something.
Thanks for the advice

I'd put a note in advising those with little NCB and/or young drivers to get a quote first!!!

In a word yes.
My comments after just selling a car advertised on hear and Pistonheads and I can be very critical.
I think your layout is a little bit wrong to be honest.
The way it is started off with the stuff about tax is irrelevant. You should start off with all the important stuff first. Mileage, owners, service history, which in this case sounds fantastic. In my opinion the more you add the better....condition of brakes, tyres, etc, etc. Some people (like me) want to know everything to asses what life the car has had, so get those details on there, but the layout has got to be spot on I think, in a logical order and without the bold text.
When you have blown blown us all away with the add, then add the pics. Again these need to be spot on and I am not keen on yours tbh. To be very critical I would want to see shots outside your house (if that benefits the add) and no silly angles or low down shots, just good quality straight photos.
The colour of the alloys would put me off and the gauges are nasty but thats just me.
Your price isn't too far off but under 5k would be better. If the money is right and the ad is spot on then it will sell.
Your add could really be improved and without sounding like a complete t**t have a look at my recent ad for some guidance on ad content. (not uploading correct sized photos)
good luck

Again, after reviewing your ad, I find myself scrambling through it trying to pick out important aspects which make it all a bit tatty.
All Imprezas are beautiful and handle well btw.

Haha! Previous comments on my old pics were that the photos were bad because they had houses and cars in the background!!
Thanks for the comments on the text layout though. I'll go through it again.

Oh god. Have had to drop the price to £5245. Somebody is going to get themselves a really good deal, if only they would come and see the car!!

Must be a bad time to sell at the minute.
I can't seem to shift my STI 5, I'm only asking £5600 for it but nobody has even come to look at it yet.
Only had phone offers of around £4800 which annoys me because they haven't even seen how good the car is!
Anyhow I'm gonna keep it till summer now & then try to sell it again then.
Best of luck with your sale.

thanks. I now wish I hadn't decided to get a new car which was more economical. Now that the excitement of a new car has worn off, (which took about 10mins) I wish I hadn't decided to change. Can't go back on my decision now, but it's killing me that I'm having to let the scoob go so cheap.
Good luck with your sale too

Last september, i eventually sold my immaculate uk98 turbo atter lowering price, twice.
Still didnt sell it locally ( nobody even came and looked!) Ended up selling it to a trader who came down from Scotland- i live in the south west of England!
