S.V.A. test -do i need one for my import
car failed mot on tires x 2 and a hole in exhaust.i was told i also need a s.v.a test for my inport n reg wrx.It had a mot on it when i had it so im a bit confused.mot guy reckons maybe the previous owner knew the test station manager or something to get it through without it.also from what i can see DoT want near £200 for the job.advice greatfully accepted.PS is it just a additional matter of a rear fog light.

You do not need an SVA. Mine is on a P and it didnt have to be done when it came into the country as its over ten years old (think the limits ten).
Basically the guys talking **** especially if its already had an MOT. Every year I have to fit a rear fog light for the test, cable is already run under the carpet and switch fitted but i hate the look of them on the **** end of the car so remove it staright after.

You say it is an N reg so it has already been registered You won't need a SVA unless it has had radical chassis mods (it's not a stretched limo, hearse or armoured car is it?).
