Default Car Booked in.

Hi all

I have just booked my car (1995 WRX Wagon Import) in to have a few bits done, just wanted to know if there is anything I need to know should or shouldn't do, I know I should really have a re-map done to gain the most out of it.

I am having a Fuel pressure Regulator fitted, so I can slightly up that.

Walbro Fuel pump Fitted

And some 440 Injectors.

I am also going to get a Chip from Scott Taylor, I already have a full De-Cat HKS Filter and SSQ Bov, 4 Pot's

Will all of this see me to 300BHP or am I going to have to have it re-mapped instead of the Chip.

Next to come is a TD05 Turbo.

Cheers all

Matt.

I know a Map will be the best thing for the car it just it may have to wait a few months to raise the funds, without a re-map is it going to cause issues with the running of the car?

With a re-map do I have to purchase a new ECU? I dont know what Ecu is in the car at present.

Many thanks.

Matt

is the chip setup to run with the modification you are having or is it intended to run with the standard motor?

usulaly the chips are designed to improve a standard motor, not run with specific modifications, that would need a remap.

problems that could occur:

1. overfuelling due to increase in injector size and increase in fuel pressure.
2. overboosting due to de-cat.

I have spoken to Scott and this Chip is set up to run with mods not a standard car.

It is booked in with Len at Subaru 4 You for the FPR and the 440's & Walbro.

"The remap that I do will raise the boost pressure to approx 14.5psi and will hold it longer then the standard ECU map.
This should see you around the 260-270BHP mark.

The remap will also work if you retain the standard exhaust but obviously you will not be getting the best out of it, probably around 255BHP.

If you wish to push it further then you will need to consider a better intercooler, larger injectors, larger turbo and a live remap.
If you were to fit the TD05 turbo from a saloon, 440cc injectors and larger top mount or front mount intercooler, you should see power around the 300-320BHP mark."
