Exclamation

I was driving along the M25 this weekend in my recently acquired MY99 and, I have to say, the ride was not without a grin-inducer. I reached across to lower the window a touch and the bloody driver's window literally EXPLODED, showering me with glass.

Now, I was of course doing the legal limit at this point and Lord know's how I am still here. I'm not sure what happened, it is all a bit of a blur, but I don't remember killing anyone, so I must have kept control of the car and got onto the hardshoulder. I was shaking a bit, but not much.

You should've seen the looks on the faces of passers-by...

I drove home and called Autoglass. Monday they'll comne round and sort and tell me what happened. I only have to pay £50 and it does not affect my no-claims bonus.

It is quite scary, but it wasn't until a few hours later sitting in bed that I thought about it. New Scooby and all I wanted to do was drive it. I loved it so much, having driving a 1984 159k 1.6 Escort for three years, this was my first decent car. Been waiting as some of you know for six months for this.

But later, I sort of realised that I'd been lucky. No philospohical rubbish or meaning of life crap, but I'd been lucky.

Now, I've come to my senses and I am pissed off about not being able to drive it!!

Maz.

Not much Lloyd but thanks ofr the offer. If it was a fault on the car, there is not really a great deal I coudl do about it. The window was tested fully when I bought it and I used it quite a bit whilst driving. Don't think there is anything to be done.

I just cannot wait for Autoglass ot get here and fix it.

Actually, a quick mention about that. I phoned the AA and they put me on to Autoglass and the garage in Romford will deal with it. They were courteous, understanding and acted as quickly as they could. Many thanks to Lynn who I spoke to at Autoglass. She'll probably never read this, but thanks anyway.
