OK... I know nothing about turbo cars....
so, i've just bought a subaru impreza UK turbo off some lad, and he said the previous owner put a WRX jap turbo on it, and it should be pushing about 300 BHP. All sounds good to me, BUT somethings not quite right.....
It starts fine, no miss firing, no knocking, no smoke, But when i put my foot all the way down, the car holds back, or sometimes jerks. Its really strange, because if i feather the throttle it goes like hell. its almsot like there is not enough fuel getting into the turbo either that or its the wrong fuel pump for this turbo
I asked the lad i bought it off, and he said he had taken it to a subaru garage, and they apparently said it is the plugs that need changing
But it runs fine as long as i dont put my foot all the way down.

Can anyone give me any advice on what this could possibly be, bearing in mind im no mechanic... so simple terms please

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

cheers - peter

what fuel r u using? that can affect how the car runs!but to me it seems like u are not getting enough fuel on max boost check and see if its an up rated fuel pump check plugs as well but find out if the turbo was done by a pro or a i can do!!!!also check ur pipes for leaks or cracks!!

Could well be the coil packs or plugs ..... change them first.
