Default Shipping costs why so expensive (USA)

Just been in touch with our friends in the US of A....
$250 dollars to send some bits over to the U.K.
Is this a "tax" to stop us tuning cars, or is there a "snail mail" service I could use ?

Anyone got any suggestions, cheapest flight I can find is £200/$400 so that doesn't work....

TIA

Its been known for them to send a carbon bootlid in a 40foot container on its own. Perhaps this is why

How heavy is your parcel mate?

you could have them marked up as a gift or samples but the customs have are wise to this.

have you tried DHL or UPS?

IIRC its more to do with size of Parcel not so much to do with weight

My flywheel from USA was $105 the charge on $300 import duties about £37 + carrier fee collection £8
