Default Looking

My first post on here and a request for help, guidance that sort of thing...
I'm looking to buy a Wrx prolly a wagon but if the price is right ..
What I need is advice on what to look for, common faults, areas needing attention, etc, etc.
Bored with my sensible car so I decided to look into these.
Viewed one last night but the header tank was blowing steam, seal gone apparently(dropped the price by £600 ) which made me wonder.
Drove alright, nothing untoward incl' the temp'.
Another question,I travel less than 10 miles per day to and from work(<20 m total),will this be ok?,or will it have an overall detremental effect.
Never had a high performance vehicle before,so any advice welcome.
What sort of mpg do these return(sorry that's the scrooge in me.. ),apologies for the big words and thanks in advance...
p.s hope this is in the right section...

Not really given it a lot of thought, the one I viewed was 93/L,but only because that came up locally...I know it was a good'n 'cause he'd seen 174mph in it...
Looking upto 2000 really,it won't see a great deal of use,cheers.

For 2grand, you takes what you gets in all honesty.

If I was buying one for that kind of cash, i'd want as much service history as possible, no bottom end knocks or rattles, no smoke on start up, as standard as possible and a uk wagon as they tend to be cheaper, therefore you'll get a newer car for your money.
Subaru : WONDERFULL ! GREAT ! TURBO 2000 AWD WITH AIR-CON

Youll be lucky to get better than this for your money. If this was a saloon, it'd be 5 grand

just make sure you get the car check by a Subaru specialist
other than that its the fuel bill you need to worry about (but worth every penny )

and welcome to our site

Cheers for the info, the question of the fuel rose out of curiosity of the performance being a x-bikeee and all.
Was told about 18 to the gallon since read from 25->35 mpg...
