Default Spec-C Type 25 confusion

Help, I'm confused!

I was under the impression that the Spec-C was around long before the Type 25 and that was a Litchfield invention around the start of '04.

In which case, what is THIS car?
MKG3000 : Subaru Impreza Litchfield Type 25 Spec C

The number plate looks familar but I can't find any issue of Evo with it in. The red Spec-C was a 2.0 and the Type 25 was silver. Yet this is supposed to be number 000 the first Spec-C AND it's a Type 25 2.5?

Anyone have any ideas?

A Spec C of any age(MY03+) can be made into a Type 25, just take it along to Litchfield and leave your chequebook!

Seems a bit odd that someone would swap the black Spec-C rear wing it wore in Evo and Autocar for a normal WRX one?

Anyway, would people generally agree that a Spec-C Type 25 is probably up there as one of the ideal Imprezas?

I'm looking to replace our Bugeye WRX with approx 260-270bhp and am looking upto £15k. The plan of gettting a 550bhp 996 Turbo has been scuppered by the news of a second child on the way and so I'm after something exciting and practical, (at least until a Nissan GTR turns up )

If it's a T25 where are the badges? Doesn't look like one to me:

IMHO, you're better off buying a MY05 Spec C , spending about £1500 on the engine to get it to 360+bhp, then another £1400 on the Type 25 suspension kit. You'll have a road/track car that will tick all the boxes!

Never saw that part. Just use a MY03 or MY04 as the base car.

I suggest you give Litcho a ring - he'll know if it's a genuine T25. I chose not to have external T25 badges/stickers on mine (but I do have a T25 number plate and a build number plate), so that means nothing, plus some people have made up their own

As MrRA states, a number of used cars were converted.

Thanks.
I did drop Litchfield a mail about the car but didn't get a reply. I'll give them a call later.

There is a T25 badge in the inside just below the ashtray, also it looks like a Spec C Ltd as it has air con and leccy windows, it has the same lower lip spoiler as the one in Evo mag though.bargain if its a genuine car!!!!

There should also be a build plate by the OSF suspension turret - you can just make mine out in this picture:

I think they'll struggle to sell it at that price.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but did the original T25 run a twin scroll?

You sure can get a Spec C and then modify to Type25 standard via Litchfield and PowerStation. That is what we did, but the money kept on being spent and we ended up with a specification nigh on par with their Type25 Race car than the Type25 Road car.

Awesome vehicles in my opinion.

Back on topic.....

Best to speak direct with Litchfields, as they will know exactly which cars they have or have not converted or sold as "off the shelf" Type25 Road cars.

I didn't think the older ones were Cosworth internals either , unless it's been upgraded/updated..? IIRC, the original T25 had about 360 of each..?

Either way I'd be contacting Litchfields about it before buying..!

There not Cosworth unless fitted later, they are Fodged components though, this version 1 model has been road tested at 0-60 in 3.9 secs and limited to 160 so it quite a performer in its own right, pleased with mine although I have to give it a new home soon :-(
