How much co2 does a new age WRX produce? I know the STI is in the highest bracket, but what about a WRX? My google-fu seems to have abandoned me

pete

my child is fine, and my mother's house is constantly warm

we are paying for immigrant's/single moms with 4 differant farthered kid's/war's over oil so the fat greddy yanks can purchase it for about a quid per gallon and to house criminals who commit murder, whereas they should be given a lethal injection(or the humane killer used by slaughter houses, much cheaper)but sit in there cell's lapping it up on there ps3's and widescreen tv's

p.s would i be right in thinking that the newage sti fall's 1 point over the £415 threshold (257)

What, so the Tory fekwits can spend the tax money instead?

Don't for ONE second run away with the idea that ANY UK government will be any nicer to motorists

Why would a 'green' tax or 'road' tax have anything to do with child poverty or keeping the elderly warm? Other taxes we pay go towards that. Either this money should go towards the environment if it's a green tax, or the roads and transport if it's a road tax. Only my opinion.

Exactly, the likelihood of finding politicians who would support the views of those who bring them to power is slim though, no matter who we go with.

I'm not always doom and gloom, just with respects to politics.

Maybe so, but at least let someone else have a shot at it IMO. The way I see it, labour has screwed the country up royally so they deserve to be voted out.

If it doesn't get better with a new government, i'll be on me bike

Thats better news for Classic owners (pre March 2001) and BAD news for the rest of us next year .

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't older cars more polluting . So I'll pay £440 next year and my mate with a 500bhp RX-7 will pay £185 . I just don't get it .

Am I right in thinking that a 2002 STi will be staying at £210 for the year, and only 2005+ cars will be getting this c£400 tax ?

I can see there will be some less traffic on the roads next year or everyone is not going to pay, which do you think is more likley?

Top bracket cars that were registered before 23 April 2006 = £210.
Top bracket cars that were registered after 23 April 2006 = £400.

Look out next year though with the new car tax groups . I bet the government wish they could change the council tax brackets like they are doing to the car tax brackets next year.

Need to get me one of them green stickers - where do you pick them up?

And how did you manage to get one! Thought you could only get one if you have a Euro 4 car which is 2003MY for Scoobies IIRC!

Take a trip to me at some stage and my subaru dealer will give you one, and 50c cheaper than the landratsamt aswell.

I just gave him my Fahrzeugschein and he gave me the green one, I was expecting red or yellow but he looked at me and said everyone with a petrol car gets a green one

what it will mean is more untaxed cars (therefore uninsured) cars driving around
my neighbours tax ran out 11/07 and he drives it every day so unless he gets caught he'll continue to do so - i've reported it 3 times on the dvla website but no1 has been to clamp/ tow it.

The environmental signals provided by VED will help deliver reductions in CO2 emissions. The numbers of vehicles in the lowest CO2 emission graduated VED bands are forecast to grow significantly in the longer term in part due to VED reform.
This really reflects the fact that my car only does 1000 miles a year yet my wifes lower polluting car does 7500 miles a year and generates more harmful emissions than mine does. And just to rub salt in the car tax advert has just been on the telly , unfortunately my mortgage doesn't stretch that far.

Time to by an old 'Tax exempt' carb'd V8, Jensen Interceptor anyone
