Default exhaust help needed asap

ive just bought a decat downpipe of someone on here ( unknown make) but i didnt know it was the one that deletes both cats on my bugeye i thought it was the downpipe that connects to the second cat pipe. ive been told that the exhaust system on a wrx is a 4 piece and a 3 piece on an sti therefore the centre section on my wrx is shorter and wont reach the downpipe ive bought. can anyone shed any light on this.

my car is a uk wrx bugeye 2001

In this respect New Ages are 4 piece systems (EXCl Uppipe) but some aftermarket DP's incorporate the rear centre cat pipe. What car did it come off ? would still fit if its pre MY06 NewAge and not classic.

it was bought for a 2002 bugeye

so is the theory of the shorter centre section wrong?

Yep !If its a Decat dp incorporating rear cat pipe it will couple with the centre no probs 'in theory' ! I trust its a 2.5" flange for the centre section ?

This is Frayz's DP of the same year incorporating Rear cat pipe into the DP.

You can see the one pipe and the 2 piece it replaces

Don't know about that mate, the ones I chopped and changed fitted no probs. I am running the same sports cat exhaust system I took off my MY03 WRX and am running it on my MY06 STi.

I have a feeling you may have bought a de-cat dp for a classic wrx, in which case your centre pipe will be too short as you suspect.

A centre pipe from any classic turbo will sort your problem

Yes both the same

The first pipe I put on the STi from the MY03 WRX was the centre pipe which was a straight swap.

Its a H&S centre and there was never any difference labelled on the pipe being for WRX or STi, it just fits

Keith ordered it direct from Blitz for me. Took 23 hours from the call to Revolution to being delivered It's boxed up really well and is an awesome sight when you open the box.
