Default Larger top mount Intercooler.

Hi All

Just a quick question, I want to run more power on my 1995 WRX Wagon Import, I currently have a full Dec cat Ninja II, HKS Induction Kit plus a few other bits, I want a larger top mount Intercooler not really a fan of the Front ones, what one do I need to make sure it fits and where is the best place to source on from I dont mind second hand if thats going to be cheaper.

Much Appreciated.

Matt.

I fitted a 97/98 one to my 95 wagon.. it was quite a bit more involved than I thought.. couldn't sure the overboosting and fuel cut in winter though!

I think maybe the STI Version 7/8/9 were slightly larger but I do think a bit of work may be involved to accomodate for it.

Cheers mate.

I put an STi6 intercooler on my 98 car, made quite a bit of difference, according to my mapper

Simple answer is no. If and I do mean if, you can get a later one to fit, the gains in cooling would be minimal.

The sti3/4/5/6 intercoolers are all the same size and have slightly bigger end tanks than the uk equivilants.

WHen i did mine I had to cut the shroud over the rear engine (maybe gearbox) mount with a grinder, some smash it with a hammer but thats messy in my opinion. I had to trim the IC and trottle body cack a few mill so there was room, the main wiring harness that runs along the firewall had to be moved, as did the vacume pipe for the brakes (i think brakes).

There was a noticable improvement though.. as I kept hitting boost cut (which wasn't so good). Returned to standard for now as I need the car to run tidy whilst I have a few other things on...
