Rubery ain't bad - hotspots seems to be more like Stourbridge/Hagley (especially for Scoobs),
South Birmingham Handsworth/Handsworth Wood, Warley(not too bad)
I used to live by West Bromwich (as do 3 other people with Scoobs) - never had an incident with Impreza-theft, but the one guy also had a new BMW 330.
His wife was approached by 2 men on their drive (just got in the car), and was asked to get out of the car. she declined, and as a result, the window was smashed and she was forcefully pulled through the closed door, and they took off in the car, leaving her in a mess on the floor...... This was in broad daylight @ lunchtime.
Just goes to show, it can happen anywhere and at anytime.......
Don't interpret this as scaremongering, but Brum ain't the place it use to be. Sorry Brummies....

Used to live down the road in Longbridge. The bit near the lickey Hills is OK if you live in Rubery but the bit near the shops is a bit ikey. Frankley is a big no go area though. Do you have a garage? Main thing is not to leave anything on show in the car as most of the time they just smash windows to get to stuff.
Rich, Bromsgrove is OK and was always looked at as the posh bit by us who lived in Longbridge. House prices not bad either. Only problem I hear is that the pubs are all full of kids as there is nothing to do.

I leave mine at the bottom of a block of flats in Bartley green when I go to visit friends there. I've never had a problem, people probably think I'm a dealer or a psyco to leave it there. Honestly I get more trouble where I live in Solihull.
What model colour is yours so I'll keep a look out.

wrx - What kind of trouble do you get in Solihull?
Admittedly, I have an Accord Type R which is never going to be as conspicous as a Scooby but I haven't had any problems at all!
have I just been lucky?

i live in northfield, never had a problem but i do garage it.
Their are tossers everywhere who will nick a car no matter where you live. They too have cars and will drive out to nick one.So no where is really safe but the same is tru of burglars.
As i see it their are 2 types of car thieves
one is the lets nick it and have some fun...a good alarm will keep them away from car.
type 2 are the so called pro's....******* would be better they do it to order and they are much harder to defeat if they target you.
Gat a cat1 alarm and tracker and then you just about are as safe as you can be.
As for buying not too much choice try burts at wootton warren or showells at lys or of course listers at worcester
I imported mine, but had ot serviced by burts.Mate got his from burts he seems happy.
