Default What's done on a service ?

My MY07 WRX is due its 10,000 mile 1st service and I've booked it in, cost is £196 from my local dealer does anyone know what I'm getting for that and can I supply my own oil, washer fluid etc etc ?
Thanks

My 10K service was £98.00 from a local specialist (Zen performance)

Its a basic check-over and oil/filter change.

£196 sounds a bit steep to me

Same here!

Although the price has gone up to a smidge over the ton now!

You need to find a good specialist (maybe Powerstation?), but you may want to have Subaru dealer stamps in your service book.

On that note; the general concensus is that an enthusiast would rather see specialist stamps than main dealer ones, but a novice and dealer would prefer dealer stamps. Just depends on how you intend to sell it (if you can think that far ahead!)

powerstation is £153.31 + vat for 10k first service or £180.14 inc vat (quoted for me for the same car and year, today).

Default Had mine done here

Had mine done at Subaru4You Newbury
Subaru4you - an alternative to main dealers

On my 07 STi I supplied the oil, as I get it free (Shell Helex) with the company fuel card, genuine filter plus screenwash & labour £68, did it while I waited, but Zen price is good when you consider they also supply Millers

Why is there such a variation ? Bush can you tell me the dealers information so I can check that out for myself mate please ?

I really would like all Subaru stamps in the book, thats why I'm not going down the specialist route, and if above is anything to go by then Powerstation seem to be taking the pi55 a bit.

Dealer labour is something like £70 per hour... not sure if that includes vat.

They're prob charging for an hours work plus parts. So £125 as above sounds right. £196 sounds like they're trying to sting you for a couple of hours laour

The service book should detail what is done at each service surely?

They did say it would take an hour because I asked as I'm waiting for it.

Ok rang another dealer price quoted £195 inclusive.
Inspect belts, take off wheels to look at brakes, oil and filter, inspect air filter
1 1/2 hrs labour at £68+vat an hour so thats £119.85 alone whats the £75 worth of parts surely not filter oil and sump plug ?
Think I'll supply my own screen wash and oil

Ah ok.

Found Zens service schedule "as specified by subaru" here.

10K is just an Oil and filter job
